PIEDMONTESE CATTLE
Piedmontese Cattle come from the Piedmont Region of Northern Italy. These unique cattle have evolved over the centuries into the efficient animals that they are praised for today.
The Piedmontese Cattle have an inactive "Myostain" gene the produces a "double muscled" beef that's rich in protien and nutients. Because of the myostatin gene, the cattle do not produce heavy marbling or surface fat. This gene creates beef that is delicious and tender despite the fact that it is so lean. The cattle are genetically designed to produce low-fat, healthy, tender beef.
Taking advantage of this unique characterisic, we let nature take it's course. This is the goal of our farm. Our animals are raised humaely and stress free on pasture grass and never recieve growth hormones or antibiotics.
A fullblood Piedmontese will always carry 2 copies of the gene, while a crossbred will carry 1 or 2 copies. 1 copy Piedmontese Beef will be significantly leaner and more tender than traditional beef. 2 copy Piedmontese Beef will be extra lean.
Piedmontese Beef allows you to choose your beef fat content without compromising quality.
